
Ghanaian music star Darlington Agyekum, popularly known as Dr Cryme, has been elected as the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President of Methodist University, Ghana, for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The “Kill Me Shy” hitmaker announced his victory on Instagram, extending heartfelt gratitude to his campaign team, supporters, and the entire student body. “This win is definitely for us by us,” he shared, acknowledging the encouragement he received from fans, family, celebrities, and well-wishers throughout his campaign.

Ahead of the elections, Dr Cryme presented a bold and forward-thinking agenda focused on “Transparency, Accountability, and Action.” His vision includes enhancing academic support services, student welfare, campus infrastructure, and security.
He also vowed to increase student engagement and push for greater access to financial aid, along with constitutional reforms to ensure more inclusive representation.
Dr Cryme’s election marks another instance of Ghanaian entertainers stepping into leadership roles within academic institutions, following rapper Guru’s SRC presidency at the University of Ghana in 2024.
