Mother of Evicted Contestant Diamond X Muzik Speaks Out
The mother of Diamond X Muzik, a young contestant on season 16 of TV3’s Talented Kidz, has leveled serious allegations against the show’s organisers after her son was eliminated from the competition on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Her explosive claims were made in a viral TikTok video that has since stirred widespread debate on social media.
Diamond X Muzik, known for his skills as a budding sound engineer and performer, was among a group of talented children who competed for the top spot on the popular Ghanaian television show. However, following his unexpected eviction, his mother came forward to express her frustration and disappointment, claiming that the competition was marred by corruption and bias.
“The Show Is About Money, Not Talent” – Mother Alleges
In the viral video, the aggrieved mother accused the show’s organisers of prioritising financial gain over genuine talent. According to her, families were allegedly paying more than GH₵10,000 per week in order to secure their children’s place in the competition and increase their odds of winning. She claimed that the system was unfair and catered only to contestants whose families could afford to pay.
“They have their favourites,” she said passionately. “They know who will win even before the competition begins. No matter how talented your child is, if you don’t have money to pay, your child won’t go far. It’s not about talent anymore.”
She suggested that the show’s name be changed from Talented Kidz to more fitting titles such as ‘Pay and Win’ or ‘Give Me Something and Win’, to reflect what she believes is the true nature of the competition.
Claims of Predetermined Outcomes and Favouritism
The mother didn’t stop at claims of financial exploitation. She also alleged that the final results of the show were predetermined, and that certain contestants were being favoured regardless of performance or viewer votes. According to her, even when parents complied with the financial demands, the winners had already been decided behind closed doors.
She expressed frustration over the lack of transparency, stating that parents and contestants were often left in the dark despite their best efforts and investments in the competition.

Past Winners Also Caught in the Crossfire
In a scathing criticism of the show’s legacy, Diamond X Muzik’s mother questioned the long-term impact of Talented Kidz on past winners. She argued that very few of them had managed to build successful careers after winning, which she believes is further evidence that the show does not genuinely nurture or promote young talent.
“This is the 16th edition. Can you show me ten contestants who have gone far because of this show? You can’t, because it’s not talent they care about. It’s all about the money,” she asserted.
Call for Reform Amid Viewer Fatigue
The mother concluded her video by calling on the show’s organisers to put an end to what she described as exploitative practices. She urged them to refocus on genuine talent and stop soliciting money from families. She added that public interest in the show has waned over the years, partly because of these behind-the-scenes issues.
Her remarks come shortly after the eviction of Diamond X Muzik, Dirriu De Poet, and the young dance group Beat Monsters from the show. The controversy surrounding her claims has ignited conversations online, with some users demanding a formal response from the producers of Talented Kidz.
As of now, TV3 has yet to issue an official statement addressing the allegations. However, the conversation continues to evolve, with many calling for a thorough review of how the show operates and whether fairness truly lies at the heart of the competition.
